Calico's dazzling performance took on an extra sparkle at the Afton Hotel on Saturday (3rd Feb 07) with the news that they had been named Band of the Year at the Crystal Boot Awards in Blackpool.
Calico (aka Nikky, AC and Shanks) were headlining a linedancing weekend hosted by TXX Promotions Ltd when word arrived that they'd won the prestigious award for the second year running.
The band celebrated by filling the floor with a glittering performance of linedance hits including Patient Heart, Don't Feel Like Dancing, Rubitin and Heart of an Angel - a fantastic evening for all!!
Alan Gregory's floor-filling performance raised the roof on Friday night with a string of recent hits including Holding Back The Ocean and Drinks For Two, as well as favourites like All Week Long and Maybe I Could.
And Vegas wrapped up the weekend with a star-studded performance including Before the Devil, Wanna Be Me and The World.
DJ and Instructor Ron, of the Ronabillies, kept everyone dancing throughout the weekend, providing disco support to the bands and morning teaching sessions. Dances Taught included Brand New Girlfriend and Mambo Humano.
